Request For Assistive Technology "A.T. @ A Glance"
As part of the Assistive Technology Initiative, the Region VIII Center is equipped to
make onsite visits to schools in an effort to provide access to and raise awareness about
Assistive Technology (AT). In order achieve this, the center is offering "A.T. @ A Glance".
At “A.T. @ A Glance ”, the Region VIII staff will provide a variety devices/equipment/solutions for school faculty and staff. This will include demonstrations of switches, computer software programs
(e.g., Kidspiration, Bailey’s Bookhouse, Math Counts), communication devices
(Alphasmart, Dynavox, etc.), and other AT strategies (writing ideas, math solutions, etc.)
that can be used in classrooms and, most importantly, in conjunction with the curriculum.
If you are interested in having the AT Facilitators visit SPECIFIC schools in your
district, please complete this form. Schools will be selected on a first-come, first-serve
basis. Our goal is to reach as many schools as possible with this project. Before
submitting to the Region VIII center, this form should be signed by the Director of
Special Education for the school district. As always, if you have any questions,
comments, or suggestions, contact us with the information listed above. We look forward
to giving you "A Glance @ A.T." with you soon.
